in two months time

Well maybe a bit more. We have almost settled into our new house, celebrated both Halloween and Milly's birthday, not to mention a full family Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. Milly is loving all the extra space our house offers, the stairs are her favorite feature. It feels so different to have more space, ever since, well ever, we have lived in such small places. I can honestly say we are extremely excited about our house, I also speak for the cats. I even think Chloe has lost some weight going up and down the stairs. Don't laugh, I'm serious.

Milly had her two year check up last week, her weight stayed put in the 10th percentile, her height shot up to the 72nd percentile, and her head is finally back on the charts in the 91st percentile. She's well on track with her terrible twos, terribly cute that is. Her new favorites are candy canes and purses, her dislikes include snowmen and sweet potatoes. We'll add more pictures later, and please forgive us in advance for not sending out Christmas cards. Thanks.

spooky

Since joining the Y a bit ago, MIlly is really starting to adjust to the daycare scene. She's in the daycare for mere minutes each day, 40 to be exact, but she had a hard time at first. Each day I drop her off, I must reintroduce her to all the toys and fun the daycare has to offer, luckily today she let me escape guilt free, she was oblivious to me as she played with new friends in the pretend kitchen. No tears, nada. She's at a stage now where she wants nothing more than to communicate and be understood by all around her, so it's a healthy challenge for her at daycare to interact with other babies and adults.

Milly is also crazy about SPOOKY Halloween, I'm sure her Nana Sue and Papa Pat can recall a conversation they had with her this weekend where the only words spoken were, "spooky hand, spooky hand". Spooky hand refers to a motion activated candy bowl we saw in Target, complete with a grabbing hand. It made such a big impact on Milly, we all heard about it for days. Also we're undecided whether Milly be a ladybug or fairy for Halloween, Milly is leaning toward the ladybug since she never wants to take the costume off.

too cute to pass up

For the past week or so, Milly has had a bit of a cold. It's terribly heart wrenching to hear her cough, Mike will agree with me. But luckily she's really started to improve this weekend. Her new obsession is saying 'please' and 'thank you', even if not concurrent with the situation. She's also been a park addict, we can't go a day without stopping by for some play time. Both Mike and I have been down the slide way too many times to count the past few days, all in good fun of course.

no pictures please

When we were in CA I didn't even attempt to bring Milly a pair of sunglasses, I figured that they would get either lost or broken, anything but WORN. But to my total shock and surprise Milly LOVES her sunglasses, in fact she never takes them off, even indoors at night.

market days are fun times

Every Thursday there is a farmer's market downtown, Milly and I love walking down there sampling blueberries with friends and hanging out at the Children's Museum. It's at the Museum that Milly is learning valuable lessons about sharing and playing with other kids, all of this while making and serving fake food. Imagine.

a weekend away

Mike and I were fortunate enough to attend the very last Sleater Kinney show in Portland, which was amazing as always, and meanwhile Milly had a fabulous time at my parent's house. I heard she was a perfect angel in our absence.

pee pee in the pool?

As much as Milly liked splashing in the pool, I think she enjoyed peeing in the pool much, much more. Also included are some pictures of Milly at the ocean, and yes, she enjoyed peeing in the sand too.

Lego adventures

Sue's friend Marcia was very generous and gave us tickets for LegoLand, an insanely fun amusement park where everything is made of, you guessed it, Legos! This was the first time Milly had ever been to any type of amusement park, it really tired her out. She was skeptical of the rides, but after going on the choo choo train with Nana, she was hooked. On the choo choo train at least, because after riding on that a few times she was fast asleep.

sun, sun and more sun

On July 18 we headed to California to visit all the Dinons. Milly really enjoyed the plane ride, it sparked a new interest for her, spotting and saying HI to EVERY airplane she sees in the sky. I believe she thinks that all airplanes are headed to Nana's house. The weather was very hot in California, but luckily Milly and I escaped unscathed, without a trace of sunburn. Papa Pat indulged Milly in many games of 'ball ball ball', otherwise known as ping pong ball, and Nana Sue willingly took Milly to play 'side', or outside as commonly referred. The beach was scary at first for Milly, but on our final day she finally dipped her feet in the water without being nudged by one of us adults. Another milestone was Milly's mastering of the playground, it was in CA that Milly went down the big kid slide all by herself for the fist time. It was sad and exciting all at the same time, she really isn't a baby anymore.

Nana Sue is here

MIlly was very excited to see Nana Sue here in Tacoma, just under a month away from our scheduled trip to California. We had so much fun, lots of cupcake eating, house looking, and playground playing.

We're baaaaaaaaack

It's been awhile since the last post, but for this post we have better and more exciting pictures than ever before. Stay seated please. These first pictures are from when Milly and I watched baby Accimus, Milly liked it until Accimus started grabbing her face. Then we have pictures of Milly at the zoo brushing the goats, she was very gentle with the goats and didn't want to leave.

The Dinon update

Milly has been getting so much more active, her walking turning into running and her curiosity peaking. Mike just started his new job this week, and Milly and I are planning on joining the Y and hanging out at the zoo a lot this summer. Milly has several new friends including baby Isaac and Raven, Milly really enjoys playing with other kids and is pretty darn good at sharing her toys. Pictures coming soon of Milly in swim class at the Y......
