spooky

Since joining the Y a bit ago, MIlly is really starting to adjust to the daycare scene. She's in the daycare for mere minutes each day, 40 to be exact, but she had a hard time at first. Each day I drop her off, I must reintroduce her to all the toys and fun the daycare has to offer, luckily today she let me escape guilt free, she was oblivious to me as she played with new friends in the pretend kitchen. No tears, nada. She's at a stage now where she wants nothing more than to communicate and be understood by all around her, so it's a healthy challenge for her at daycare to interact with other babies and adults.

Milly is also crazy about SPOOKY Halloween, I'm sure her Nana Sue and Papa Pat can recall a conversation they had with her this weekend where the only words spoken were, "spooky hand, spooky hand". Spooky hand refers to a motion activated candy bowl we saw in Target, complete with a grabbing hand. It made such a big impact on Milly, we all heard about it for days. Also we're undecided whether Milly be a ladybug or fairy for Halloween, Milly is leaning toward the ladybug since she never wants to take the costume off.

too cute to pass up

For the past week or so, Milly has had a bit of a cold. It's terribly heart wrenching to hear her cough, Mike will agree with me. But luckily she's really started to improve this weekend. Her new obsession is saying 'please' and 'thank you', even if not concurrent with the situation. She's also been a park addict, we can't go a day without stopping by for some play time. Both Mike and I have been down the slide way too many times to count the past few days, all in good fun of course.

no pictures please

When we were in CA I didn't even attempt to bring Milly a pair of sunglasses, I figured that they would get either lost or broken, anything but WORN. But to my total shock and surprise Milly LOVES her sunglasses, in fact she never takes them off, even indoors at night.

market days are fun times

Every Thursday there is a farmer's market downtown, Milly and I love walking down there sampling blueberries with friends and hanging out at the Children's Museum. It's at the Museum that Milly is learning valuable lessons about sharing and playing with other kids, all of this while making and serving fake food. Imagine.

a weekend away

Mike and I were fortunate enough to attend the very last Sleater Kinney show in Portland, which was amazing as always, and meanwhile Milly had a fabulous time at my parent's house. I heard she was a perfect angel in our absence.
