Princess in a box

No really, all of this came out of a box.

While the men were putting in the sod.....

Lawn envy, BE GONE.

After months of looking into our barren (mostly rock filled) backyard, it is so so nice to finally look out and see green. Now in a month or so after the sod sets, we won't have to wonder anymore what it's like to frolic barefoot in backyard grass.

A big fun sticky mess, the best days of summer.

Milly had the best time during Papa Pat and Nana Sue's visit, here are the last of the pictures I captured during that time. Although they were here only for a short week, many milestones occurred; Milly slept in a 'big girl' bed for the first time, Mike because a true lawn connoisseur and master of all that is manhood, plus I started feeling the baby move.

Breaking rocks in the hot sun... (day two)

Sod arrives next Saturday!

Breaking rocks in the hot sun... (day one)

Seems to have been the musical theme of the last few days. Papa and Nana's visit (work sentence) is in full swing, and they have been the HUGEST help (in other words we couldn't have done this yard business without them). Our yard looks so good, thanks again Pat and Sue! Oh and notice that Pat is doing all of his work in the sun, while Mike and Sue perfect the shady parts of the yard.

The breast, I mean best chicken ever.

Now I know this is Milly's blog and all, but I think Mike's beer can chicken deserves some mention. That man is pure genius.

Things are heating up.

It is so hot here! Milly and I are barely managing, drinking tons of ice water in this crazy heat. Luckily Mike will be off work (hopefully) soon and he can go get us ice cream. Whew. We're really looking forward to Pat and Sue's visit, as I type this Milly is making artwork for their room.

In other news, Milly favorite new snack is smoked jack cheese, or moked cheese as she refers to it.

And also, Milly ( plus Mike and myself) had a great time watching Flushed Away this Saturday at the first outdoor movie night in our neighborhood. A late night for Milly as the movie didn't start until around 9:30 but it was well worth it.

Gardening with Mike.

As each new day passes Mike becomes more and more manly. Quit laughing, I'm serious. He is the most robust with the grill, secondly he's a rugged gardener. Anyway take note of the newest adventures of Mike the Mighty.

BIG C, little c, what begins with c?

Okay, I'm done with the Seusssing. Here are some pictures of Chris and Milly.

BIG M, little m, what begins with m?
