Thanksgiving Blues

Technically Thanksgiving is over, but we still have tons and tons of leftovers in our fridge. Mike and the kids went down to CA for Thanksgiving, while I stayed here with the Boris and the cats. What I thought would be a relaxing time, was actually just very sad and quite here without the kids and Mike. And I had B to keep me busy, who decided that he would be my shadow whenever I was home, and it was of course my duty to sit next to him (on our couch) and scratch his wrinkles and butt. Not that I'm complaining, I am absolutely in love with that dog. But anyway, I'm very excited to have Mike and the kids home.

I'll have to have Mike make a post about the fun time he had in CA with the kids and his family. He keeps telling me he has pictures, although I have yet to see them.

Milly had her birthday celebration at school on the same day as their flight for California. Needless to say, it was a busy busy morning.

Excuses, Excuses.

You know the drill as to why I haven't posted lately......we've been busy yada yada yada. But really, it's been a whirlwind month. We had way too much, or I should say I had way too much Halloween this year. We went to the Y for a Halloween parade with Lisa and her boys, to Mike's work thing, to our neighborhood thing and finally actual trick or treating at my Mom's house. Truman discovered a passionate love for candy, and Mil loved being in. Truman and I also went with Mil on her school field trip to the Pumpkin Patch, I don't have many pictures because, well, I was chasing T the whole time. But both of the kids had tons of fun, T especially got a kick out of riding in the school bus. We've also been attending cooking classes in our neighborhood, we are actually hosting one this Thursday where we'll share a few of our favorite recipes (Nana Sue's Tortilla Soup and the Deceptively Delicious chocolate chip cookies with garbanzo beans).

Mil's birthday was really low-key this year, with all of the Halloween excitement, we were all glad for a relaxing family celebration. And Mil loves being five!

Oh and I also wanted to mention that not only did B's bully Mom Mari give us the most magical bulldog but she also has an amazing human daughter that we totally love who sometimes babysits the kids so Mike and I can finally get out of the house together. Thanks Mari!
