Stone Soup

So yesterday, it was too much fun at Mil's school. It was the cutest thing to watch Milly's class use plastic knives, and all be involved with making the soup. And actually, you know what? The soup was really good! Mil took her stone home (stones that her teacher washed with soap and water at home, and then the kids washed again before cutting up the veggies) so we will soon make stone soup for MIke and T.

HEREis the recipe for stone soup.

Boris, Bully Love

Boris loves to give kisses, or bully love as we refer to it. That dog is such a sweet guy, anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting my Mom's dog Stoner will know that Stoner's sweet spirit is in Boris. Boris reminds me so much of Stoner, and Stoner was the best dog that ever lived, I loved that dog so much. But anyway, on Friday we took Boris in to get his stitches removed, and I was panicked about it, I was worried Boris would put up a big fight at the vet and get himself too worked up. With bulldogs, it's bad for them to get too worked up about stuff, they have trouble breathing. But luckily, and I literally almost had tears of relief, he was a champ and didn't mind when the tech was taking out his stitches. This is partly due to the fact that my helpful Mom came with us and fed Boris treats while I held him and the stitches were removed. Boris loves food. His eye still looks pretty red, but the Vet said it'd take at least a month for the swelling to go down.

Now, lets try the video thing again

So. sorry if this is crooked, I can't figure out how to rotate it.

Weekly Update

We are so behind on blogging, the chaos of our house...

We went bowling with MIke's work last week, both Mil and T had a good time but Milly had an exceptionally good time. I'm going to try and upload a video of her bowling, we'll see how google is today, but it was the cutest thing. Milly was slightly upset that her bowling ball (pink of course) was too slow, as everyone else had fast bowling balls. Poor Mil, that ball took forever to reach the pins, and she as so patient waiting and waiting, and waiting. The ball even rolled back to her a few times. Too cute.

Milly has been doing awesome in preschool, she's making stone soup this week and I'm going to help out. Mil is really into knowing the month, day of the week, and the calendar stuff. She learned a really cute song about the days of the week. She's also been really into making up her own little songs, and dinosaurs, very into dinosaurs.

Truman has been a whirlwind, he's so busy and loud, very loud. He is very much a boy, Very much. He loves Boris, his favorite game is still throwing all kinds of things down for him. Magazines are especially fun for him to throw down.

Also, despite it snowing this morning, we had a few sunny days over the last week. I took the kids to the park one day, and then after Mike went home from work we took Boris and the kids to the park. Poor Boris can't walk all the way too our big park, but he's good to walk to the one a few blocks down with monkey bars.

Boris making his bed

So, usually this is a huge production, tons of scratching and head rubbing.....this video is still cute though.

Show-n-tell

As long as the calendar for Mil's preschool has been out, about a month, she has been counting down the days until the pet Show-n-tell day. At her conference Milly's Teacher was telling me that everyday Milly wants to countthe days on the calendar until that exciting pet day at school. Originally Milly wanted to bring Boris and our two cats. For anyone that has met our cats, can you imagine? But we were going to bring Boris, but his few surgeries last week have left him a bit on the tired side. Plus I didn't want him to scare any of the kids, as he is already 30 pounds and would have loved to give all the kids a dose of his Bully Love. So my Mom brought Emmitt. All the kids were super excited, as well as Mil. Emmitt loved all the adoration from the preschool class.

Mil and T have been doing great. T is becoming quite the little troublemaker. He loves to go around the house like a tornado and throw anything he can get his hands on to the floor for Boris to chew up. Boris is more than happy to oblige to this fun toddler game. I, obviously, despise this game. Milly has been a great help with the dog, she regularly picks up his toys and tells me if he's up to anything naughty if I'm making dinner or changing T's diaper. Both the kids have been FANTASTIC eaters lately, I mean unbelievably fantastic. I made this Mexican Lasagna last week after a very long day with the kids, I was expecting to have to make mac and cheese with the kids dismissal of my lasagna, but I was so pleasantly surprised that they ate it up, and even had seconds. It made an unbearable day totally worth it. I think the fact that T is a big eater helps Mil eat better.

Boris is still the greatest dog, even after a month. He has his moments, but they are few and far between. He is the perfect dog for us, he adores the kids, doesn't require a ton of activity and had so much love to give. He patiently waits for the kids to come downstairs in the morning, then bathes them in Bully Kisses. Oliver still hates Boris, but it's getting slightly better. Chloe life has actually improved with our adoption of Boris. Oliver is spending so much time trying to attack Boris that he doesn't have time to harass her. Chloe still routinely comes downstairs after the kids go to bed and sits on the couch getting pets from Mike and I, she seems really at ease with Boris. Boris is recovering nicely from his eye surgery, his eye is still swollen, but it's looking better.

Ooh, my time is up the kids are done with breakfast and T wants to continue his game of tornado.....
