Island of Sodor
Well, building a train track was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. I think it took my Mom and I about 2 hours to create a semi-working track. And taking brilliant pictures of the kids while they were playing with the train? Not exactly what I imagined. It will be nice when the table bottom arrives so I can get the train out of our living room.

Bulldog Takeover
I'm sure everyone knows by now how much I love B, and how much I love his family. I could go on and on, but I won't. And before you complain that there are too many pictures of bulldogs, know that I only used a fraction of the 445 pictures that Mil took on my phone today. I must say though, Mil does take pretty good pictures!

Thomas, Thomas, Thomas x2
For my birthday this year we are getting the kids a train table, ironic I know. I'm definitely not much of a craigslist person, but I've been looking for a good deal on a slightly used train table. I didn't have any luck with the table, amazon actually has the Thomas ones new cheaper, but on a whim I contacted a lady in Fife that was selling a Thomas collection for cheap that her kids had outgrown. Thomas stuff is pretty expensive, even used, so I wasn't expecting much. But there was a TON of tracks, 15-20 engines (most wooden), and lots of fun accessories (roundhouse, Sodar wash station, bridges). If all that wasn't enough, the lady threw in a big bag of other non-Thomas wooden accessories (trees, traffic signals, people, houses). And the real kicker was all of it was in excellent condition. The deal of a lifetime. I'll have to post pictures later when everything is less chaotic. Mil did take pictures of our bulldog takeover at the park, so she did manage to take a slightly blurry picture of the trains with my phone.

The rest of the vacation.....
Well, if you can believe it Mike and I cleaned out our garage. Yes really. Our favorite Yva watched the kids while Mike and I went to the Mariners game, the first time we've been out without the kids in, I can't even remember when. We had the most unbelievable time, with the most unbelievable seats.
And I can't forget Mike Pasley and his wondrous family, we had the pleasure of hanging out with them before they went back to Australia. Milly and Kenna put on a great fashion show, and we had a wonderful, wonderful dinner. Thank you Mike and Heather!
Thomas, Thomas, Thomas
Truman is obsessed with Thomas The Train, obsessed. Thomas is the first thing he talks about in the morning, and the last thing he talks about at night (as he puts all of his trains to bed). We got tickets for Day Out With Thomas while Mike was on vacation, I was really excited for Truman to see Thomas up close and personal. The event was in Snoqualmie, which is a super cute town by the way, at the railway museum. Our train ride was scheduled for 9am, and we arrived about 8. Truman did not like waiting in line, not at all. But really, what two year old does? Truman and Mil had a really fun time on the train ride, but it wasn't nearly what I expected, the setup of the whole thing was horrid. I don't think the kids really understood they were riding on Thomas, as he was hidden between other trains, we got on from the back of the train, and I don't know if Truman would have associated that he was on Thomas except for Mike taking him (against the rules) to peek around at the front of the train. It was fun for T, but it didn't blow his mind as I was expecting it too.

Happy Fourth!

It's official, Mike's on vacation for the week and we are having a lot of fun having him around. Last night we went to the Rainiers game to see the big fireworks show, and the kids? Well, let's just say it was an interesting experience. Truman spent most of the game playing the Thomas the Train game on my phone (best 3 bucks I ever spent), Mil was very impatient for the game to be over so she could see the fireworks. Both of the kids were very, very excited about the fireworks. Truman kept trying to reach out and touch them. We have a few more fun things scheduled for the week, I'll be sure to post pictures.
